On December 12, 2017 the founders of SmartGateVC introduced the Hero House and Armenia Startup Academy pre-acceleration program to the wider public and the startup community. Hero House is a unique co-working space that hosts our initiatives: the Academy, yLedger blockchain community and many others yet to come.
In his opening address and introductory speech, SmartGateVC Partner Ashot Arzumanyan mentioned that “this initiative would not come true without our result-focused partners from GIZ and the European Union, hands-on participation and encouragement of our ecosystem – tech entrepreneurs from Australia to San Francisco, and people who believe that future of Armenia is tech”.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia Emil Tarasyan and the Head of Cooperation Section of EU Delegation to Armenia Hoa-Binh Adjemian spoke to the guests with a warm and supportive welcome address.
“This is a House of future heroes, a great place for young innovative people to learn and develop further”, said EU SMEDA project’s team leader Eva Maria Naeher.
The welcome address was followed by presentation SmartGateVC partner Hambardzum Kaghketsyan who talked about the pre-acceleration program current status and perspectives.
Hero House is the basement to spread the Hero culture in Armenia. Sourcing its inspiration from the Draper University of Superheroes, it is the space where the atmosphere excellence, integrity, friendship, hardworking, and fun is going to nurture superhero teams capable of global success.
We are happy to partner with the European Union and GIZ in creating the Hero House and spreading the hero culture in Armenia (implemented in the framework of the Support to SME Development (SMEDA) Project, which is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ’s Private Sector Development in South Caucasus Program).
